With 8% tax on the refurb, that brings it to $733, which is $66 more than the new model.

That gives you $66 to upgrade the memory for equal cost.

I was in the same situation and I ended up with the newer model. I thought it was a better value than the older unit.

The absence of tax and $30 makes the new model a decent deal.

The savings brings it down to where it should have been. $600 + tax. I would choose the new one (and I have the refurb one).
