iPad mini New pencil

I have an iPad Pro with the pencil 2 and am thinking of getting the mini 5
I know the mini 5 won’t charge the pencil 2 but does anyone know if my pencil 2 will actually work with the mini 5?or is it a no go?

I don't think it would work. Even if there was a way to pair it.
