No one has said that, please quote 1 person who has. All I can see is individuals saying that they have never received spam, not that others haven't.

People saying they've never received a spam on iMessage are the same people telling us they go 3 or 4 days between charges on their iPhone.
I saw that press release put out by a company that just so happens to mine extraterrestrial milk based byproducts.
People saying they do receive spam on imessage are the same people saying Samsung doesn't copy.

I've gotten 2 of these spam texts over the month, and never before. Coincidentally, I made an Etsy account to buy something for the missus just before I started getting them. I went in to my account settings to disable notifications from Etsy and the spam stopped.
I get spam messages every so often. I definitely don't want it to become more frequent, as I'd have to turn off iMessage. It's annoying enough to deal with spam on email.
I hope Apple fixes this, otherwise *everyone* will eventually start getting them who uses iMessage.

Disregarding or questioning the report - specifically, the research methodology, the lack of clarity regarding what the numbers represent and the sensationalist nature - is not the same as claiming iMessage spam doesn't exist at all. Surprisingly, the report about the problem and the actual problem itself are not one and the same.
Read more thoroughly, then try again.
So it would seem this is a regional issue -- I and everyone else I know here in the US doesn't have the iMessage spam problem..
I wonder if people who receive spam imessages have their email addresses configured to receive imessages instead of just their phone number?
I wonder where you have been hiding lately but even there you probably heard about things like "Line", "Threema", "Skype" or "Whatsapp"...?
And funny enough, those can only be described as "net based messaging systems" that are rather widespread among both the iOS and the Android users.

Comparing it to a cheese moon and a bogus scam to sell spam software is basically saying the issue doesn't exist. Context counts.
I get iMessage spam occasionally. I block them and they seem to stop. Maybe they're not ambitious spammers. Slacker spammers?
Interesting - did you search the posts of those people and can you quote one of them who posted both statements as example? Thanks.
I only get one day out of my iPhone 5 but haven't received spam on iMessage.
Also exactly the same people are the ones that said that a phone or tablet doesn't need a resolution as high as a retina display and then when competitors offered higher resolutions they all have flip-flopped and say that the retina display resolution is too low.

Yes I've seen those people too! They're the same ones who said 3.5 inch screens were perfect and then flip flopped and said 4 inch was! Those darn flip floppers, they're everywhere!!
