Since everyone else is busy declaring there is no such thing as spam on iMessage.
I love how people who've never received one automatically think others are lying about it

Exactly. Tom is just twisting the situation.
Basically no one on andriod uses a net based messaging system instead of SMS. iMessage basically has not eqivalent on andriod. Hence imessage is way way more than 30% of all net based mobile messages. Probably closer to 95%+.
The whole thing seems compeltely bogus and just another publicity peice to sell span software to corps.
"Research done by"...with that, you can disregard this article.
No one has said that, please quote 1 person who has. All I can see is individuals saying that they have never received spam, not that others haven't..
People saying they've never received a spam on iMessage are the same people telling us they go 3 or 4 days between charges on their iPhone.
For a while I had a spammer sending me iMessages around 8am, I know that since iOS 7 I can now block people from texting/calling me and for a while this is what I was doing with this spammer (though he would eventually just message me from a new email address).
About 2 months ago I got a message once again around 8am, I was getting ready for work and rather than block it I just swiped and delete the message, then the next day same thing, on the 3rd day he messaged me and it happen to be my day off. I received the message on my Mac and I was rather annoyed so I googled "Gay Porn" images and saved about 20 pictures, then using copy and paste I sent well over 100 text images (20 pictures each time) of gay porn from my Mac to that guy.
Two months later not a single spam from that person.
The spam was a sale on sunglasses and a bunch of accessories.
Here you go.
Oh, and for reference I live in China. Don't know if spam should be worse here or not, but clearly an issue worth looking at.

Disregarding or questioning the report - specifically, the research methodology, the lack of clarity regarding what the numbers represent and the sensationalist nature - is not the same as claiming iMessage spam doesn't exist at all. Surprisingly, the report about the problem and the actual problem itself are not one and the same.
Read more thoroughly, then try again.

Interesting - did you search the posts of those people and can you quote one of them who posted both statements as example? Thanks.
I only get one day out of my iPhone 5 but haven't received spam on iMessage.
People saying they do receive spam on imessage are the same people saying Samsung doesn't copy.
Did i do it right?
Also exactly the same people are the ones that said that a phone or tablet doesn't need a resolution as high as a retina display and then when competitors offered higher resolutions they all have flip-flopped and say that the retina display resolution is too low.
/jk, of course.
