I have stumbled on a weird problem. It seems that any version of Safari greater than 13 on Mac OS causes eye strain and sometimes headaches. I can install 14 or 15 on my Mac running Catalina 10.15.7 and they both do it. If I revert to 13 it stops completely. The rest of the OS and apps are fine. The same is true if I upgrade my Mac to Big Sur or later. Does anyone know what changed with Safari starting with version 14 on Mac? All of the corresponding iOS versions are totally fine. I have a 2017 13 inch MBP without Touch Bar.

What you’re suggesting genuinely makes no sense unless there was a scaling/resolution change. Outside of that it would be a hardware display issue which it seems isn’t the case.
