Windows Next upgrade to improve PC gaming?

Looking for suggestions on my next upgrades to increase performance for gaming and general use...

Currently, running:

Windows 8.1
Gigabyte AM3 (I forget the model, but it has like 5 graphics card slots and supports crossfire.)
AMD Athlon II 2 250 3.0GHz
4GB Ram
ATI AMD Radeon 5770
600w Cooler Master

Replace that Athlon with a quad core phenom (or whatever equivalent AMD has in AM3 socket anymore), then go for 8GB RAM, depending on the resolution you are running at that 5770 is probably still quite serviceable. (I know because I went from an athlon 250 to a Phenom 965 on my gaming box, it was a good CPU price/performance)

Problem is you can't find many AM3 cpus anymore, only AM3+. Your Mobo may be upgradable to support AM3+ but you would have to look.

Thanks! This is my mobo. Is it upgradable to AM3+?
