iPhone Night Shift freaking out

Anyone else notice Night Shift behaving oddly? Mine will turn on abruptly well before sunset, then turn off again randomly, then slowly fade in as the sun actually sets, and other random behaviors.

Dark Mode turns on properly at sunset, but Night Shift seems to have a mind of its own.

Happens on 13.5.1 and now 13.6

I use Night Shift on a timed schedule (not sunset/sunrise) on my iPad (13.6) but haven't noticed odd behavior. What troubleshooting steps have you tried? Does using a timed schedule work without weirdness? I would suggest turning it off, rebooting, and turning it back on to see if behaves the way you expect it to.
