I have been using nightshift on MacOS Sierra on an older macbook air for some time now and it has been working fine. However, this morning it seems the nightshift mode is completely stuck? i'm not able to switch it off using any settings (even tried re-calibrating the display!).

I'm stuck with the yellow hue permanently! Any tips??

is night shift on or has the cable become unseated/broken?

We see laptops at work and desktops with broken via/screen cables if wiggle cable sometimes it comes back.

try external screen to be sure, if not yellow then probably cable issue.

Worth trying a PRAM reset - hold CMD + ALT + P + R on startup until you hear the Apple boot chime 3 times, then let go.

Also for troubleshooting purposes you could create a new user account and see if the issue persists there. If it's fine, it's definitely something software related. If it's still got a yellow hue then possibly there's something else at work.
