I have nightlights in rooms in my house that detect when it gets dark and automatically turn on. I just discovered that when I press the power button on my XS Max the lights blink on and off several times. What would be happening in my phone that would cause this to occur? Thanks.

When you press the power button the FaceID activates and flashes some IR lights. I think that your night lights have some kind of sensor and it’s being confused by the iPhone’s FaceID. Put your phone face down on a table, press the power button and see if the lights still blinks.
