Hi,

question about ownership and permissions after a clean Mojave install.
Why isn't an "owner" listed under permissions (Get Info)? I have System (read and write), wheel (read only) and everyone (read only).
I myself with my short name and "me" am not showing up in that list. I can't add myself because I don't have permissions.

Install was on a clean freshly formatted SATA SSD from a USB Mojave installer created for that purpose.

Any ideas what might have gone wrong?

Also just realizing right now that the same is happening on my Big Sur MacBook Pro 2016.

Thanks,

Pete

"allow user to administer this computer" is checked but greyed out.
There are no other users.

greyed out is not a good thing.
try the file sharing folder and make sure your name is there and you have read and write prilages
i think you have that on, but want to make sure.
the password worked when you started the Mac Pro?

I'm going to leave this to Mac Pro users,
but i would just search online
or trouble shoot what should be checked in the system presences.

i hope you get this figured out.
