No PATA support with Monterey. OpenCore Legacy Patcher and Early 2008 MacBook Pro.

With dosdude1 Catalina the PATA DVD player worked great. Recently wiped SSD and installed Big Sur then Monterey on this 17" Early MacBook Pro via OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Monterey has fewer graphics aberrations than Big Sur. However, when trying to play any DVD using the internal PATA drive no disk is seen by both DVD player and VLC. Cannot eject DVD while in MacOS.

What should I do differently?

Many thanks in advance

The problem is documented in OCLP GitHub issue #707 (in case you'd like to join the efforts of troubleshooting the relevant driver AppleIntelPIIXATA).
