Everything else works, just no sound.

Tried the Realtek install and a reboot and nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers,

Did you install Windows using BIOS or EFI?

The 2011 Macs are preUEFI so they do not expose all devices at the EFI level, but they do in the CSM-BIOS layer that Bootcamp uses. If you want your Audio devices to show up, you will need to use CSM-BIOS (and hence Bootcamp). If you already have 3 partitions, they are not supported under the CSM-BIOS Bootcamp installation.

EFI, this looks like my problem. I'll look into an external sound device to get around this.

I had all sort of trouble getting windows installed so perhaps the EFI was the issue. Maybe I should have used MBR when creating the partition on the drive I was going to install windows.

I ended up cloning my MSI GT70 windows 8.1 install. Booted up from TB with no issues. Immediately installed the BC drivers. Fastest windows setup on a Mac ever! Just no sound.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Bought Creative Labs Omni Surround 5.1 external USB sound card. Windows sound works for now. Just need to find a legit Windows 8.1 Key on sale. Almost done with getting Bootcamp loaded with all my games!
