my MacBook Pro2012 is not finding my iPad pro connected via usb/c connection. it finds all other usb drives i connect.tried several suggestions on youtube but with no luck.

The 2012 MacBook Pro does not have USB C. What dongle are you using and is it compatible with MacOS?
