Note App: Only with iCloud mail?

Hi,

on my iPhone i see that on iOS 8 there is an app called NOTES.

But when i go to my iCloud (that i use with a @gmail.com address), i receive an error with NOTES.

For use it it's called that i need to use a @icloud.com address.

Do you confirm?

It's not possible use NOTE with iCloud.com without a @icloud address?

No, but in iOS 9 you can use Note app without iCloud and you have to wait to OS X 10.11 to do the same on the desktop, as on 10.10 it asks for iCloud email...
