Can somone explain this! My iBook when I started it up this moring it coverted all the apps to factory settings. All of my documents and all programs were still there but all went back to stock settings. Even stickies shows the original notes.

Specs on machine:
iBook G3 500 mhz.
640 RAM
12.1'' screen.

the date showing 12/31/1969 when you go to the date/calendar?

It's odd because its nothing to do with the clock and the date is fine.

i beleve the ibook doesn't even have a clock battary.... doesn't it get its juice from the main battary? Anyway, did you acidently restore defaults?

I didn't restore anything. The iBook is old maybe its just failing?

This thread should be moved to the 'Mac Basics and Help' section. This doesn't belong here. If you want to get help more easily you should think of changing our Title to something related to your iBook such as "iBook is restarting to default settings by itself". :)

Sounds like a new login account was created or the old one was lost, so all the user account settings were set to base user account.

Did that a few times, trying to clean up. I will NEVER do it again.

I actually think I did re-name my Home Folder (I'm not sure) Thanks for all your help!
