If you're willing to pay for it Grovemade makes some beautiful headphone stands.

I picked these up and they work very well for the APM.

I would look for a stand that has a wider support, and not in a small pressure point for the mesh headband.
in the long run it might deform the mesh at that place.

More something like this:

I got this one from Amazon that does the job. It’s inexpensive and has a curved surface that’s easy on the headband mesh...

i prefer "clamp on desk" type headphone stands.
zero risk of toppling over
cheap, adjustable, secure and practical for all my headphone types...not necessarily only for the AirPods Max

example as below

I kept it simple... i think the color will match the grey

I have this stand at home. Aren't you worried that the small pressure point will deteriorate the mesh ?

This is my current stand for the Max, but I fear the metal will pierce through the webbing so searching for some wrap-around padding for it.

I also purchased this one and feel that the curve is a good compromise for the mesh headband. I have a few other stands for my high-end headphones but all of them would put a stress point on the mesh and I'm worried that over time the mesh will lose shape at the contact point. I almost went with one of the curved block-style stands but they will deform the ear cups over extended time as the cups grip the stand.

Do you not think there is a downside to this as it being a “single use” or it can be repurposed?

i.e. once it is stuck to a position then you cannot relocate it
Yes, they get attached 2 sided tape so I guess you have to be real sure that this location you want. But since my 3 bedroom house is about 1000 sq feet you can image that rooms are small. So once my office was set up with 2 desks, one for my work laptop and monitors and one for my gaming PC, it will not be rearranged LOL. But I image that mount can be removed and another piece of double sided tape attached and it can be mounted somewhere else. But yes, if somebody wants to move stuff around then this product is not for them. But generally I think that most people would be OK with just mounting it one place and leaving it in place. I just have to add that mount is made from rubber and is "bendy". as mentioned earlier, I have pair of Sony XM4 and pair of Logitech G35 gaming headphones and there are no issues. G35s are pretty heavy so I guess that APM should be OK.

There is also a new Kickstarter project for a charging stand designed just for the AirPods Max. Looks good and comes in the same colors as the AirPods Max. And it charges wirelessly. What I like the most is the fact that it doesn't have the headphones rest on the headband mesh, something I'm concerned about if they are sitting on the stand a lot.

This is interesting, I like the look of it, but would honestly not even need the charging, they should just make one of these without as well.

This is interesting! I like that it matches the colors as well.
