I've seen a number of threads or posts cropping up over the last year or two of people, mostly with iOS 9 devices, forced into reactivation. This fails because they have disabled reactivation, but it appears to happen at random and has been intentionally triggered by Apple. Does anyone know more about this problem? What iOS versions have been afffected, and what is the extent/reason for this?

The only one I've heard about is iOS 9 and the 6s/6s+.

The main reason I would guess is that Apple wants to force an update. It probably doesn't matter as much on a 6 or 6+ but the 6s/6s+ are still capable of running the latest version of iOS.

Apple probably knows there's still some people (such as myself) sitting on iOS 9.
