Hi all,

I have a mid-2011 mini I want to try and resurrect for use in my church as a system that can play videos via YouTube and other stuff too. Nothing will be too taxing at all though. It will be used for some word processing too.

It's currently running 10.13.6 which I believe is the latest official OS it'll support. I have 'upgraded' it from its useless 500gb HDD to a 128Gb SSD and from 2Gb to 4Gb RAM that I had lay around. I'd rather not spend any more money on it if I can avoid it unless I can be convinced that more RAM would be beneficial.

So question is, what OS is best for this old beast? What are peoples experiences running later MacOS versions through OLCP/Dosdude? Is it worth leaving on High Sierra? Or should I go to Catalina or later?

Many thanks!

Craig

As you said, 2011 Mini is supported (by Apple) up to 10.13 High Sierra.

Maybe Catalina, with help from dosdude1 ?
