Here's my issue.
I'm trying to get the FTP server on my powerbook up and running from home so that other people (myself included) can access files remotely.

I have a WRT54G and set it to forward ports 20 and 21 to my powerbook's IP address, but people still can't connect (and yes i have it enabled under sharing)
I checked what my external IP is and gave that to someone to try and they recieved a i believe 504 user anonymous error and could not log in.

If anyone can help with how to properly set up the WRT54G to allow FTP access it would be greatly appreciated

Oh and i also tried putting it into a DMZ, that didn't seem to do anything at all.

yeah, but it never comes up with a prompt asking for it?
should it somehow be incorporated into the address?

How are the users tyring to FTPin to your computer? Terminal, 3rd part app, finder? Sounds like they are trying to FTP in via anonymous user instead of via a registered user.

thank you!
it finally works

it was that darn syntax for the address that was throwing it off.
