I've had folders shared on OSX for a while now and have never had any trouble accessing them from Windows systems on the network. Today I found that those same shares cannot be accessed from Windows 8 machines. There's absolutely nothing different in the network configuration and settings that I can see, yet the only "signs of life" are that it does indeed show up under "network"; beyond that, I can do nothing. If I click on it, it says "unable to access". The computer's IP address can be ping'd and I can connect to it other ways (I have no trouble accessing it the same way from Windows 7 computers), but I cannot access the shared folders.

Any ideas?
