pages '08 documents, HELP my new 2019 iMac can't open any of them... my older computer was using 10.11.6

migrated my Pages '08 documents from my now-retired 2007 iMac (ios 10.11.6) onto my new 2019 iMac, but I can't open any of them... is there a way for me to upgrade docs or download an older pages app onto the new iMac, that can open older docs? thanks for any help

You should be able to open and convert them:

Are you launching Pages first and then opening the older Pages document using File > Open? Not sure if it matters whether you do that or try to open the older file directly by double-clicking on it. You can also drag the file to the Pages app icon in the dock to open it.
