Resolved Pages document wipe-out

Hi everyone,
I considered my iPad a great laptop replacement. Up to the point when after a reboot all my pages documents went missing. I am on ios 7, so nothing was saved in iCloud for the past month or so, plus the iCloud option in Preferences/Pages was disabled and disables itself upon Pages launch. Any way to recover it?
UPDATE: cycled icloud settings and rebooted, now newer documents have shown up. Not the old ones though
