I've used a 100a, and it's the best digital video camera i've ever used, better than the GL2, tghe pd170, and the vx2100.

Amen. I'm contemplating upgrading in the near(ish) future to the 200, based on the performance of the 100a. Also, dvxuser is a great resource for info and sample movies, but (admittedly) i've seen them all - and want to hear some unbiased reviews from MR users.

What i can say bias or not , if i have the money, i'll buy Hvx200.

Why?

1. It's true HD, DVCPRO50
2. It's progressive 24
3. It's both HD and SD, presuming it function as well as dvx100b
4. The budget camera for real world situation with true HD, comparable to other true HD camera.
5. Let's not discuss about low light issue, all scenes should be lighted somehow.
6. The world is moving into HD, and since blueray or dvdhd is coming out.
7. More supporting accessories will be coming up for this model, like firestone, Mini PS might come up with an adaptor for it, i dunnoe ?
8. Everyone can start making good video =D
