I have a mid 2011 imac which I decided to partition 6 months back as some newer programs wouldnt run under the old osx. Im now on 10.12.6.
As times gone on I've reached almost full storage on the new partition for installing new programs. I therefore decided to delete the older (original) partition with a hope of using the available space for the new partition. Whilst alls well I simply can not increase storage capacity on the wanted drive. I can partition the old side as many times as I want. But not the other. Any ideas.

despite the newer wanted partition being called El capitan it is in fact Sierra 10.12.6
