Hello,

As the creator of the app, I'm proud to introduce PDFZone, a productivity app:

The app itself

PDFZone automatically extracts your PDF files' content to useful data (CSV file).
Give PDFZone multiple PDFs of the same type, and it will smartly extract the data you need (from predefined areas) to a CSV file.

PDFZone is not another OCR software, it analyzes OCR'd or electronically generated PDFs.

An example of use: suppose you want to have the total amount of your telecom invoice for every month of the last ten years. Tell PDFZone once where is the total amount, then give all your invoices (PDF) to PDFZone. The app will find the total amount for every invoice, you can then extract the results to a CSV file and use the data in the software of your choice (Excel, accounting, ...). Easy!

USAGE:
1) Define WHAT to extract (ex: invoice number, date, total, stock value, taxes, ...)
2) Define WHERE to extract: drop a PDF and select the area where to extract. Repeat this for as many model as you need.
3) Extract from a massive number of PDFs
4) Export the data to a CSV file, then import in the app of you choice (Excel, iCompta, accounting app...). Enjoy!

SMART:
- PDFZone adapts to variations due to scanned PDFs.
- With the "Trusted Neighbour" functionality, you can also extract values that might not always be at the same position (ex: the total of an invoice which position is below the items, the number of which may vary).
- Save your configuration for re-use.

Download

Technical stuff

  • Compatible with the Touch Bar (introduced with the new Macbook Pro's)
  • Compatible with El Capitan & later (Sierra, High Sierra, ...)
  • PDFZone is entirely developed with Swift

Let me know what you think of it, and the improvements you would like to see in the future version.

Hope you enjoy it!

We are starting with the translation of the app into other languages (now it is English only). Into wich one would you like to see PDFZone translated?

Will there be a 50% discount on the app to celebrate this new release?
Unfortunately, I don't think so. There might even be a small increase in the price of the app to reflect the work provided for the new functionalities.

A small update is available (for free, as always ;)) to "fix" a small issue with renaming when the extracted value contains slashes.
The slash being the path separator, you cannot obviously rename (for example) .../yourfiles.pdf to .../2018/07/07_provider.pdf. :p:rolleyes:
The update automatically replace the slashes by underscores.

In the short future, the replacement character will be configurable.
