iPad Pro Pencil works without touching???

not being funny, but sometimes my pencil works and scrolls and activates links without me actually touching the screen. Sometimes i just miss and dont make physical contact, but the pencil still works.

Anyone else noticed this?

The tip is detected maybe 0.5mm from the screen, seems to be this way on every unit.
