Have Performa 630CD and 550. Need to know what if any size limitation on upgrading internal HDs. The 630 has a 250MB IDE and the 550 has a 160MB SCSI. My 5 yr. old uses both and would like to have more space for her games.

There are limitations, Pre OS 8 could only see Max 2GB per partition, OS 8 went a bit higher. A good source for information on older 68k based Macintosh comptuers is http://www.68kmla.net . Macrumors user 5300cs directed me to that site, and it has helped me plenty, especially their archive search!.

Thanks

Boy i thought the old systems were history but that site is a find. I'll be spending some time there researching. I just picked up a 1GB IDE HD today so it sounds like it will work. Thanks again.

No problem, I am a member there also. The group is a bit unique, but are greatly helpful when it comes to working on these older Macintosh systems. The 68k computers last a long time, and I use mine weekly, and my LC575 is at my friends house and used for kids games and programs.
