Had to send in my AirPods 3, with personalized case, because the volume output from one of them suddenly dropped to almost nothing. They came back today with a generic case (despite the problem likely having nothing to do with the case), and Support basically told me to pound sand. Is this actually Apple's policy?

Yes that’s been the policy for many products for many years.

Where is that policy posted?

Apple has $200,000,000,000 in cash on hand but can't afford an engraving machine at the repair center?

Lame.
