Problem
My MacBookPro18,3(14", 2021) has a 1080p FaceTime HD Camera, it should therefore take 1920×1080 images and videos. The latter is true with the Quicktime.app [File > New Movie Recording] when setting the Quality to Maximum. Unfortunately, I find myself unable to take "true" 1080p images with the Photobooth.app. When i take images with it, they have a resolution of 1440×960 which isn't the camera's native resolution. This was without changing Photobooth.app size, when I made photobooth as small as possible, the images i took had a resolution of 1200×800. When i put Photobooth in fullscreen, the images had a resolution of 2656 × 1770. This is bigger and should be impossible to take my Mac's integrated camera's (without upscaling).
Question
Why is this happening, and how can I take "true"(1080p) images:
1. Without taking a video and then exporting a frame of it
2. without 3rd party software
Why can't I take a full res photo of myself on my 2000€ macbook in 2023...
