Hi all,

I'm sorting out my photos library.

I turned off iCloud from both my phone and mac and then deleted about 10'000 photos (mainly duplicates) over the past few days. I have about 2'000 photos left.

I now want to sync these photos to iCloud (and thus to my iPhone).

However, when I turn back in iCloud photos from my mac it populates my photos app with iCloud photos that I no longer need. It seems that I have to wait 26 more days for my (old) photos to be permanently deleted from iCloud.

Can I permanently delta these photos from iCloud myself? Which would then mean I can turn back on iCloud from my mac and only have photos I want on iCloud.

Hope I have made sense.

Thanks in advance,
James

You should have an "album" in your photos library called "Deleted Photos". As @itb7 says, you can force delete those photos from that library, which will remove them now, rather than having to wait 26 days.
