Photos for Mac, using space bar for full view gone?

Using 10.13 using photos for Mac I used to press space bar to get the photo to go full view, and again to exit.

Can't get this to work now on 10.14. Can't see a preference so has it disappeared? Or is it me?

They changed it to the Enter key now instead.

Why? Because Apple.
