Hi,

I want to download several pictures from an iPhone 5c.

Photos/iPhoto tells me the following:

"I can not access your iPhone. This Mac has not yet been
granted access to media on this iPhone. In order to
import media to this Mac, tap "Trust" on the iPhone.
You may need to unlock the device first.

I have tapped on "Trust" but it doesn't give me the
option afterwards to start the importing the pictures
into the MBP. Whatcan I do?

What does it mean by:
"You may need to unlock the device first".

Thank you, kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

You can use the Photos app to import photos. The phone should be on the side of the app and clicking it will show the import menu.

Trust only unlocks the phone to let the computer "see" the phone. If you don't have automatic sync set up it won't do it by itself. Photos has an option to always open for your phone.

The newer iOS updates disable the USB port unless you have unlocked the phone first. This setting is controlled under the Passcode setting.

Hi,

Thank you for your message : ) !!!

I had iPhoto up until a week ago.
With iPhoto was very easy to import
the photos from the phone. I just
opened iPhoto and then opened the
Photos application from my phone
and it just asked if I want it to import
the pictures to the computer.

Now is different. The iPhone is
connected to the computer, the
Photos applications in the phone and
the computer are open, but nothing
happens.

You mentioned:

You can use the Photos app to import photos.
You mean the Photos app. of the computer, right?

The phone should be on the side of the app and
clicking it will show the import menu.

On the side of the app.? You mean a little icon?
I have been clicking on it and nothing!

Trust only unlocks the phone to let the computer
"see" the phone.

Yes, whenever it tells me to click on "Trust", I do it.

If you don't have automatic sync set up it won't do
it by itself. Photos has an option to always open for
your phone.

How does one set the automatic sync?
Yes, I have checkmarked the option:
"Open Photos for this device",
but nothing happens!

The newer iOS updates disable the USB port unless
you have unlocked the phone first. This setting is
controlled under the Passcode setting.

Yes, I have version 10.3.3, the latest one!
How do I unlock the phone?

Thank you, kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

They changed iPhoto to Photos. You should have it on your computer.

When you open Photos on the computer, you should have a wide grey bar with Albums and other things. You should also have Devices if your phone is connected. Or you can use View > Devices > your phone. This will open the photos on the phone and should look like iPhoto did.

I don't use Photos or iPhoto, but I assumed it would have sync like iTunes. You can still use "Open Photos for this device" to open Photos and click import. But if "Open Photos for this device" doesn't work then you have a different problem.

Under new versions, if the phone is not unlocked (you can see and use your apps) it will not enable the USB port. Type in your passcode and then connect to the computer. Does it work now? It should make Photos open wit Hope that helps.e phone unlocked.

If you don't want this, on the phone open Settings > Passcode and for "allow access when locked" make sure "USB accessories" is on.

Hope this helps.
