CarPlay Pinch to zoom in Google Maps?

I'm thinking about buying a head unit with CarPlay capabilities, and I'm trying to decide if getting one with a capacitive touch screen is worth the price. What would make it worth it to me, is if you can pinch to zoom in and out using Google Maps.

Does anyone know if this is possible? I've read that it works in Android Auto with a capacitive head unit, but have yet to hear of it working in CarPlay.

Doubt they will. They didn't include it purposely to keep operation as simple as possible while driving.
