We have a 2024 M3, just got it. So, I plug the iPhone into the USB, and I keep it in the tunnel box with the lid closed. it connects etc. I place a call, and the person I am calling, I hear fine thru the cabin audio. However, the person I am calling says I sound like I am deep in a tunnel, etc. Is there some setting I need to increase somewhere to increase my voice volume thru CarPlay? Does the phone have to be sitting out on the seat in the open to pick up my voice, maybe?

Check the voice setting (separate from CarPlay) for your car. More than likely, your phone is also connected to your car and is using the car volume setting. My 2024 Kia Seltos is that way.
Er, what does that mean? Not sure what a voice setting for the car is.
