I travel to Italy fairly often and have accumulated a variety of movies that are in the European system (PAL?). I also have some that I bought here in the US (NTSC?). Can I play them both automatically on my MacBook, or do I need to do something special to switch back and forth between the formats?

Oh yeah. the PAL NTSC thing is for VCRs isn't it. With DVDs it's the region.
But I am not so sophisticated -- I don't understand either of your replies. Is mactheripper something I have to download or buy? Or is it already on my computer automatically? Can you give me some idea of how it works? Or is this just a matter of setting a region somewhere in the settings panels?
