But the bigger issue: is it "pant" or "pants" when a single piece of said garment?

Hmmm… a single piece of this is called a pair of pants, but it’s only one thing… perhaps the expression refers to the two legs of the pants…? I will look into this…

Okay, I’m.. pretty much corrrect. It comes from when pants were two separate parts, one for each leg.

So is it iPhones Pro as well?

But to answer your question I usually don't denote the pro part... Just "AirPods", otherwise I sound like someone doing product placement ad's. (like those annoying Buick commercials)
