I currently have an older car that doesn’t have sat nav or Bluetooth, never mind anything fancy. I reckon it’s going to cost a lot to get fitted, but I’ve seen portable units. Does anyone have any experience with them? I’m happily using my iPhone via a Bluetooth adaptor just now, but I wondered what real benefits I’d get from CarPlay.

  • Ability to navigate your music without using your phone.
  • Siri for making song requests.
  • Superior sound quality as music is streamed over wifi.
  • Navigation is easier as the location visited on google and Apple Maps on your phone are already there. No time wasted with lacklustre address input on built-in infotainments.
  • Underrated: Apple Watch integration. My phone vibrates or pulse gently ahead of a turn or exist. Whilst kids are fiddling with Spotify I can also glance at my watch for navigation information.
