Anyone out there purchased this version yet?

I'm interested in the composition style case because of the "stealth" factor it provides for use in a university setting (looking to go to paperless note taking), but I'm a little concerned about the material durability of the cover, especially if intend to hand carry it on a frequent basis (i.e., sweaty palms on paper/cardboard material is not a good combination). As quoted from their website:

Cloth backed spine and reinforced binding on high quality covers printed with natural soy inks. Made from 100% Post Consumer recycled paper products.

I know it is early to gather long term durability, but some opinions would be useful in making a choice.

Thanks!

The stealth factor and the retro look is what made me order one. Should be here by next week for me though, so I'll post impressions by then.

I emailed the manufacturer about this issue - their response was, the cover is a printed fabric, not cardboard. If it's the same as the fabric on the Wingtip I bought, it's very durable. And very easy to grip.

I emailed as well, but didn't get a response. Thanks for the info!

Portenzo Composition iPad case

Mott, sorry you didn't get a response. We check email every couple of hours, and *try* to remember to check the spam folder daily. Sometimes one slips through, or I flag it to answer later with other similar questions.

The Composition is definitely made from book binding materials, not paper. It's reinforced combo of cloth/acrylic/poly blend, etc...

We were going to make these exactly as the originals, with card-stock covers, but we wanted to take a classic design and bring it to the next level.

The cloth texture on the spine, and the stitched seam make it really grip-able.

We just posted some new photos here: https://shop.portenzo.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=COMPOSITION+IPAD+CASE&PhotoNumber=4

You can really see how the corners become invisible.

Thanks!

Just received mine today.

Quality work from the folks at Portenzo. Didn't have time to resize the pics so they're huge, but that just makes the case look that much more special :)

So far my initial impression, I love it. I also have a TwelveSouth BookBook, but that will probably used only during times of inclement weather. Portenzo Composition is my current go to case and will probably be so for awhile.
