hmm...

if you want to explore and be creative, im sure you can make something like that yourself, in under half the price.

but of course, if you're just feeling liek doing nothing, then I guess it wont be such a waste of money.

i like my case

I have a neoprene tight fitting clase from http://www.madsonline.com (Ti 667). I think it was about $50, a bit expensive, but i think it is great. It fits the book perfectly and has a handle to carry it with. I put that inside my non-laptop sidebag and it is perfectly protected... Give that one a look.
