Hi! I recently bought a PowerBook G4 12" 1.5GHz that only boots in safe mode. After removing the GPU drivers, it works fine, so I figured the GPU is a little sad and I bought a new logic board which I will install on Saturday. However, whenever I boot from the boot picker, it boots up with stripes on the screen and is in 8-bit B&W mode. What's causing this? Is it possible that it's a firmware issue instead? It behaves normally if I don't go through the boot picker, aside from needing the GPU drivers to be uninstalled.
Thanks.

EDIT: Looking back at a screenshot I took when the display was B&W, I can see the stripes in the screenshot too. Odd.

After chatting with Wicknix and doing some tests, it's looking like the Open Firmware framebuffer is causing trouble. The question now is, how do I disable the Open Firmware framebuffer and boot into OS X?
