I've had a scan of the forum and have not discovered a match to my question.

Basically, the fan adjacent to the heatsink on my Dual 450 Graphite PowerMac is running a high pitched buzz, that's giving me a headache as i'm working.

I cleaned it out, it's spotless.

The fan has an aluminium grill around it, and when you ping it with your finger, it makes the same sound.

Is there a fan replacement, or fan mod to help this go away? It's just that it hinders productivity as all i can hear is this high pitched buzz, grinding away at my ear drums.

I've also searched the net, but all matches refer to the quicksilver, and they all say the 450 is quiet...!

Please help!

Rich.
