Hello,

I want to give my old MacBook to my gf, and while at it, I want to put in an SSD, too.
I want to keep some applications, but otherwise I want it to be like a clean-install. So I prepared a new user, cleaned up my old one, and now, ready to delete that one, I want to copy Macintosh HD to the new SSD.
What are some files I can delete apart from my old user files? Is there away to reset library files, crash files etc. but keep the applications?
Thanks alot in advantage!

Most all of the cruft you could get rid of was in that old user account. I guess you could track down every log file, but they use very little space and the OS purges them over time anyway.

I would just give it to her as is after you delete your account.
