This is my info a get from my pal about pro mac.

1 M3 is not ready yet, by distance.
2 M2 24" iMac is ready for months, my source tell that it hard to believe why it's still not release.
3 There're 2 monitor is in work, the first is new 27" 5k and 32" 6k both occupy miniLED,12MP camera and 5-core A15.
4 While 40-core m1 (2x m1 ultra) appeared in development machine, 2x m2 max is never.

does it at all really matter when a brand new Mac Pro or Studio was just released. More than likely people waiting on the sidelines for the next best thing aren't really working on their machines, they just want the latest and greatest (and I get that cause I love technology)

Based on conjecture

- M3 with Thunderbolt 5 80Gbps by Q1 2024 if it follows the 19.5 month refresh cycle of M1 > M2
- iMac 24" M2 within 2-4 months from now for the 25th release anniversary of the iMac by 18 Aug 2023.
- I hope those 2 monitors have "Apple TV 4K" built-in like the "smart displays" of Samsung & LG
- M2 Extreme 40-core CPU probably had yield issues so check the M3 Extreme by Q1 2025

Thoughts on the oldest unrefreshed Macs

- 2021 iMac 24" M1 is over 2 years old
- 2020 iMac 27" Intel is turning 3 years old 2 months from now

If a 2023 iMac 27" 5K were to come out in 2-4 months it would MSRP for

- $1799 M2 8GB RAM 256GB SSD
- $2499 M2 Pro 16GB RAM 512GB SSD
- $3199 M2 Max 32GB RAM 512GB SSD
- $5199 M2 Ultra 64GB RAM 1TB SSD

Plenty of people still get their work done with the machines they have.

A lot of places also work fine using non Apple machines. Rushing to update to the latest Apple is no point - our machines are still running well (mine are anyway). They don't suddenly stop working because the new wonder machine has been announced by Apple.

Nothing rumoured sounds like must have.

Do you know if the M3 will be based on the A16 or A17 cores? Will it be 4nm or 3nm?

M3 will be on 3nm like the A17 Bionic. As to which cores it would use... we'll have to wait for Q1 2024.

Hopefully it uses the A17 cores.
