Problem installing: cant format disk

Bought myself a SSD today and formatted it using my Windows computer to make the Mac recognise the drive.


First the drive was configured as MBR. Therefor I could not select the disk, even not after erasing it using Disk Utility.


Then I converted the drive to GPT instead of MBR. Now I’m getting more options to erase it to, but none of them are working. Getting promoted with the message that erasing has failed.


I’m unable to install the OSX.


Anyone know what I’m supposed to do to get it working? Just for the record, I’m using internet Recovery Mode.

A drive must be GUID to boot. Format it as HFS+ Mac OS Extended Journaled. When you install High Sierra it will format as APFS.

I have tried that but that doesnt work either..

I have yet to encounter an SSD that I couldn't initialize to Mac format using Disk Utility.
What kind of enclosure/connection are you using?

Does Disk Utility "see" the drive?

Just a quick update; I’ve got it working formatting the disk using terminal!
