I had the famous problem with the discreet graphics card with my Macbook pro Retina mid 2012.
Unfortunately the repair period ended in 2016 and Apple no longer wants to take over.
So I decided to permanently disable the nvidia gpu using the following method:

It worked perfectly. But now macOS does not allow me to change the screen brightness
