Problems w/ installing things on iBook

Hello all I have recently been having some issues installing stuff on my iBook. I really want to install Railroad Tycoon 3 but when it asks for which volume to install my hard drive doesn't show up! It isn't unique to railroad tycoon but it happens to all of the things I try to install. Any idea what is causing this problem and how can I fix it? Also I have a iBook G4 and I am running OSX Tiger
