Hi,

I am trying to set up my Kawai ESX digital piano through a Midisport Uno (USB) into my IMac (running MacOS X 10.4+) and using ProTools LE (version 7 something... if it matters I can find out).

I downloaded the newest drivers from M-Audio for the Midisport Uno (even though, theoretically, I shouldn't have had to, but the computer wouldn't recognize it all at first) and when I plug it in, the USB light on the midisport lights up, but the midi lights do not. In the MIDI Audio Set up window, I "connected" the piano (new external device, and I selected kawai, but ES-x was not an available option in the pull down, so i typed it in) to the midisport. I downloaded the IAC driver as well.

Now, when I hit the keys, ProTools does not record any audio from the piano, despite the fact that the cables are all connected correctly from the piano to the midisport, and the midisport is correctly plugged into the IMac.

What is wrong here? Why does it not work? The midisport Uno is supposed to not require ANY setup except plugging it in, but yet despite my efforts to configure it with the computer and protools, it will not recognize the piano for some reason. The manuals for the midisport do not help either (because it just says "plug it in and it works" [paraphrased])

Can anyone please help? I have found no answers anywhere for this problem. Thank you!
