I have been on Dev Beta 3,4,5. Now today Mac App Store wants to install PublicBeta 4. I wonder if this mess up is related. I'm not installing it.

it's definitely a newer version, and am seeing some bug fixes. just not sure why it's listed as PB4, when last week's beta was also PB4...

It's OK! The latest two public beta updates and the same as develop beta updates, it will show up as develop beta version 6 after you finish installing!

not here, the 'About' window simply shows Version 10.13 Beta (17A344b). (which IS a higher number than last week...)

EDIT: actually, yes, the app store shows "developer beta 6", making this public beta #?????.....

Yeah! The public beta and develop beta are exactly the same in the recent several updates except for the version number

right, but still don't understand what the public beta# is. if the previous one was 'pb4', this should be 'pb5'... except apple lists it as 'pb4'. so... '4B'? '4 part 2'? '4 as it should have been previously'?

just funny, ultimately. am trusting my mac, and my life (more or less) to a company that can count money, but not OS versions... :D
