Today marks the first morning after iOS 12.1 got released with eSIM support on iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Both carriers (Ooredoo and Vodafone) are extremely excited to be the first in the region supporting the new SIM standard and are giving away a ton of rewards!

Ooredoo Qatar:
1. Make sure your device is updated to iOS 12.1
2. Call 111, DM @OoredooCare or go to any of their stores to swap your SIM card for an e-SIM
3. Ooredoo will text you a QR code and send a copy over email too

Vodafone Qatar:
1. Make sure your device is updated to iOS 12.1
2. Call your personal support agent if on Vodafone Red (Postpaid). If on Prepaid, you will need to visit any of their stores
3. Vodafone will provide you with a printed QR code to scan on your device
FAQ: https://www.vodafone.qa/en/esim

Important tips:
1. Keep your QR code secure as you will need it later if you want to re-register the same line on the same phone
2. QR codes issued by both carriers can be used on one device only at a time and can not be used to activate another device later. You will need to request a new QR code if you get a new phone with eSIM capability in future
3. Both carriers are offering the eSIM free of charge in the mean time but this could change in future so act fast

• Get 1 TB of data for 3 months when you switch to eSIM on Vodafone Qatar. Offer is available to all new and existing customers including prepaid users (Available till 31st of January 2019)

I personally never expected both carriers to act this fast but thanks to them, the entire country is eSIM and 5G ready now!
