Question about audio playback, Wi-Fi and OS X Mavericks

For those of you who are using a Mac running Mavericks (10.9) or Mountain Lion (10.8) on campus, does all video and audio files refuse to play once you connect the Mac to Wi-Fi - along with a billion socketpair failed 24 (out of file handler) errors in Console?
