Last night, I went to reboot my 2007 Macbook from its restore disks. However in mid process, it keeps stopping the installation of it. And telling me theres an error(different one everytime) I'm not sure if this is because my disk is scratched or what.

Regardless, now I have a macbook with no software to run on it, or start up on. I was wondering if i purchased the Snow leopard 10.6 disk on apple.com for $29.99 if this would give me a full installation of an operation system, and wipe my files clean?

Thanks, for the advice much needed before i waste my money :D

Apple Store bought Snow Leopard did NOT restore my system

I purchased a pre-owned macbook that did NOT come with system disks. I purchased a Snow Leopard disk from Apple and reinstalled the OS. However, much to my dismay it did NOT restore the system. As far as I can tell it didn't do anything... How do I restore the system to factory settings to remove all of the old owner's files and data, etc??? Thanks!
